That said, spring and summer are particularly popular, offering warm weather and giving you plenty of chances to enjoy outdoor activities. However, this is peak season, so expect the beaches and streets to be a bit busier.
If you prefer the quieter months, and don’t mind soaking up the winter sun, June to August are good times to visit. The colder season also coincides with whale season (June to November) and a range of exciting festivals.
Pack for variable weather:
Temperatures in the warmer months can often reach a high of 37°C, so don’t forget to pack your sunscreen, sunglasses and a trusty hat. Evenings are a little cooler, so light jackets and jerseys are a must. While it doesn’t rain too often during winter, make sure to bring plenty of layers and a warm coat as temperatures can dip to around 13°C.
